Most processes are slow for reasons nobody can see from a desk. Work waits in inboxes, forms come back for missing information, and the same data is checked by three departments. Before investing in new technology, it pays to know exactly where the time goes.
Solvnex maps how work really moves across your organisation, measures it, and turns what we find into a practical plan.
What we measure
- Total lead time. How long a piece of work takes from start to finish, as the customer or requester experiences it.
- Manual touchpoints. How many steps need a person to type, check, forward or approve something.
- Process cycle efficiency (PCE). The share of total lead time spent on work that adds value. Most business processes spend far more time waiting than working, so a low PCE is normal. What matters is knowing where the waiting happens.
A higher score is not always the goal
A good process is one that serves the business outcome, not one that chases the highest efficiency number. Think of a goreng pisang stall. Frying everything at once looks efficient, but bananas that go cold in the tray lose repeat customers. Frying in smaller batches lowers the headline efficiency and raises income.
We apply the same thinking to your processes. We set targets based on what the process is for, such as faster service, lower cost or fewer errors, and measure improvement against that.
What you get
- Process maps of how work moves today, built from interviews and your own SOPs, not assumptions.
- Baseline measures for lead time, manual touchpoints and PCE.
- A prioritised list of improvements, separating quick fixes from changes that need technology.
- A roadmap that shows what to do first, what it depends on and how to measure the result.
Proof at scale
For one of Malaysia's government-linked companies, Solvnex assessed 24 departments, ran 92+ interview sessions, reviewed 126 SOPs and identified 266 improvements. The designed future state projects a 54% shorter total lead time and 39% fewer manual touchpoints. Read the case study.
How we work
- See. Interviews, SOP review and walk-throughs to map the current process and measure it.
- Build. Quick fixes first, such as removing steps, clarifying rules and approval limits. Then technology where it removes real delay.
- Evolve. Re-measure after each change so you can see what improved and decide the next step with evidence.
Where to start
For one process, a five-day Progress Sprint (RM7,999) maps and measures it and delivers a working first fix. For a whole-of-organisation review like the GLC case, we scope the engagement individually.
Common questions
Is this the same as Lean or Six Sigma?
It draws on the same ideas, such as value-added time, waste and flow. We keep the language plain and the deliverables practical, so your team can keep using them after we leave.
Do you only work with large organisations?
No. The method works for a single department or an SME with one critical process. The size of the engagement changes, not the approach.
